SPEAKER: TED L. MCDORMAN is a Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. From 2002-2004 and again from 2011 to 2013, Professor McDorman was “academic-inresidence” in the Legal Affairs Branch of the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade where he was involved in a number of Arctic, law of the sea and environmental matters and represented Canada at several international fora.
Professor McDorman has been a visiting professor at institutions in Thailand, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Russian Federation and Canada. In 2007, Professor McDorman was the Fulbright Visiting Chair in Canada-U.S. Relations at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.
Professor McDorman and has over 125 publications in the areas of ocean law and policy, international trade law and comparative constitutional law. Since 2000, he has been the editor-in-chief of Ocean Development and International Law.
A recent publication is: Suzanne Lalonde and T.L. McDorman, eds, International Law and Politics of the Arctic Ocean: Essays in Honor of Donat Pharand (Leiden/Boston: Brill-Nijhoff, 2015).
